Blackberry 7100 Review

Blackberry 7100 Review

In a nutshell - The BlackBerry 7100 models are fully-featured mobile phones combined with the power of the BlackBerry PDA. This phone sized wonder, comes loaded with all of the cool features you want: integrated Bluetooth connectivity, speakerphone, downloadable ringtones and more!

RIM offers three models in the Blackberry 7100: BlackBerry 7100g™, BlackBerry 7100r™ and BlackBerry 7100t™. With slightly different looks and some feature variation, the Blackberry 7100 models are the Blackberry cell phone line. They are first and foremost cell phones, slimmer in design and a handset adapted for phone usage.

RIM engineers have actually managed to fit a QWERTY keyboard onto the handset's slim frame. Each button on the keypad shares two letters but typing is still easy as the BlackBerry 7100's automatically determine which letter is the intended one based on what it predict you are trying to spell. This unique predictive text technology, known as SureType, is what makes the 7100 models' compact size a reality. SureType also learns the words you use most often, further enhancing your typing speed.

All Blackberry 7100 models come with built-in Bluetooth capability, so you can use a wireless headset (or for a regular headset, use the build-in jack). These mobile phones also have vibrating alert, speed dial, and a contacts list/address book.

With phone functions being on the front of the stage, the 7100 still deliver the legendary Blackberry email and internet experience. With Blackberry's push technology, you don't need to retrieve your email. Instead, Blackberry devices are designed to remain on and continuously connected to the wireless network, allowing you to be notified as new email arrives.

Use the Blackberry 7100 to seamlessly connect either to your work network (if you have Blackberry Enterprise Server installed) or to the internet. With your office network, your calendar events are exchanged wirelessly and automatically so that your desktop calendar and Blackberry device calendar are synchronized. All your Outlook meeting requests, changes, and updates are instantaneously synchronized instantaneously with your desktop. Users without Enterprise Server support can manually sync with their desktop calendars and contacts via Bluetooth or USB using the included BlackBerry Desktop software.

Or just use the Blackberry 7100's internet browser to get online. Browse Web sites, get up-to-date stock quotes, read the latest news, check weather reports and more. The unit supports AOL, Yahoo and ICQ instant messaging, as well as SMS text messaging. MMS messages can be received and forwarded.

So what about the different 7100 models?

Actually, all three Blackberry 7100 models support the same great features. The difference lies in the design alone. The Blackberry 7100g model is slightly slimmer and longer than the Blackberry 7100t and the Blackberry 7100r, so basically it's down to style and personal preference.
